REDESO implements livelihood and community development programs in Kishapu, Kibondo and Dar es Salaam. In Kibondo, the project supports Kitchen gardening at the camps whereby vegetables such as  Amaranthus,  Tomatoes, Swiss chard, Collard green,  Carrots and Chinese cabbages are grown for the nutrition purposes of the PoC. Kitchen gardening also involves growth of tree fruits like Banana suckers, Citrus leticulata, Persea americana (Avocado), Citrus lemon, Carica papaya,passion fruits and sugar canes.

In Kishapu, REDESO in collaboration with Oxfam implements project focusing on Women and youth Empowerment through Diversification of their livelihood to manage and cope with the shock by establishment of productive enterprises to increase their resilience due to climate change. The project has adopted modern farming through the use of locally developed greenhouse to grow tomatoes vegetable for the benefit of the beneficiaries (youth and women). The program also supports the establishment of fish ponds where fish are reared for nutrition and livelihood of the target group and community. The program further supports adoption of drought resistant crops such as sorghum, sweet potatoes, and sunflower. All these are crucial for food, nutrition and in income of the of the target group.

  In urban areas, PoC engage livelihood program such as Income Generating Activities (IGAs) whereas PoC are grouped in three major groups. The program enhances the income and livelihood of the PoC as the result of entrepreneurship training with life skills such as soap making as well as sales of the produced products.
