REDESO CEO and team Visiting a Protected water sources at river Nyangwa in Kibondo. The river supplies water to Nduta refugee Camp.
Water is the vital natural resource for the survival of both human being, aquatic and terrestrial living organisms. In the context of humanitarian settings in Kibondo and Kakonko Districts, refugees depend on rivers flowing from host communities’ sources to Malagarasi river. In Nduta camp, there are two rivers namely Nyangwa and Bururuma rivers which borders the camp on the east and west respectively. For the case of Mtendeli camp, there is only one river namely Nyabiyoka which borders the camp on the west.
REDESO conducts conservation of these rivers to ensure constant supply of water to the refugee and support other economic activities done by Host community where they originate.
