Relief to Development Society (REDESO) is a Tanzanian national Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), first registered in June 1998 under the Society Ordinance, 1954 (Registration No. S.O. 9459), and subsequently registered in May 2005 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002, with Registration No. 00NGO/R100816. The organisation focuses on humanitarian assistance, community development, climate resilience, environmental conservation, sustainable livelihoods, social protection, and disaster risk reduction.

For more than two decades, REDESO has worked with refugees, asylum seekers, vulnerable people and host communities in different parts of Tanzania. Its interventions have included refugee assistance and protection, food security and livelihoods, climate-smart agriculture, environmental restoration, renewable energy access, disaster preparedness, gender equality and women's economic empowerment, and ecosystem-based adaptation. In its recent programme portfolio, REDESO has implemented interventions in Kigoma, Shinyanga, Simiyu/Kishapu and other project locations across Tanzania, including Simanjiro, Mpwapwa, Mvomero and Kaskazini A–Unguja.

REDESO has a long-standing partnership with UNHCR, But also There is Program  collaborated/supported by CARE International Tanzania, IDRC, BMZ, JAC Trust, the United States Embassy Tanzania, the Little Sun Foundation, HelpAge International and other partners. These interventions have addressed climate resilience, sustainable agriculture and livelihoods, environmental conservation, renewable energy, disaster risk reduction, refugee protection and assistance, and women's economic empowerment.

Among the organisation's recent interventions are the Enhancing Livelihood Resilience along the Sisal Value Chain in Shinyanga Region, Scaling Up Resilience through Diversified Livelihood Options in Kishapu District, the Scaling up Innovations for Reducing and Redistributing Women and Girls' Unpaid Care Work in Rural Tanzania project implemented in partnership with ESRF and WSP, and the Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Rural Resilience (EbARR) project. The EbARR programme has supported ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, watershed and riverbank rehabilitation, rangeland restoration, tree planting, sustainable land management and energy-efficient cooking technologies across several districts in Tanzania and Kaskazini A–Unguja.
REDESO works closely with Local Government Authorities and other stakeholders in the implementation of its programmes. Government collaboration has included technical support, community mobilisation, extension services, environmental management, agricultural support, disaster preparedness and coordination of humanitarian and development interventions. The organisation's approach is based on strengthening local capacity and promoting sustainable, community-driven solutions.

REDESO has an established governance and management structure comprising a Governing Board and a professional management team responsible for the day-to-day administration and implementation of programmes. The organisation is supported by documented policies and procedures covering key areas including human resources, procurement and financial management, which contribute to accountability, compliance and effective programme delivery.

The organisation has experience in managing donor-funded humanitarian and development programmes and in implementing projects in partnership with international NGOs, UN agencies, research institutions, government authorities and other development actors. Through its resource mobilisation efforts, REDESO has engaged with national and international partners across thematic areas including climate-smart agriculture, clean energy, biodiversity conservation, youth empowerment, gender-based violence prevention, sustainable livelihoods and disaster risk reduction.
