Assistance to Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Urban Areas

REDESO provides medical assistance,
psychosocial counselling and basic needs assistance to refugees in urban areas
in Dar es Salaam. The basic assistance includes food, accommodation allowance,
and training, access to knowledge and information and recreation activities at
Refugees’ Community Centre. Asylum seekers and host community in Dar es Salaam
are provided with training skills, such as Computer training, English,
Kiswahili, and French languages, and early childhood education courses at the
Refugees’ Community Centre (RCC). The RCC also provides extra program
activities namely; HIV/AIDS prevention awareness, general Tanzania legal
awareness, Sexual Gender Based Violence awareness and organize refugees and
host community participation in international commemoration days.
